Compiz using Radeon 7500 on my Optiplex 260

Whew! I finally got compiz working on my ubuntu install (Dell Optiplex GX260 using Radeon 7500 32 MB AGP card, 1280*1024 resolution) and yes, the AGP card works much better than the intel on-board/integrated graphics card.

Here’s my xorg.conf file…

Note that I set the defaultdepth and depth to 16 even though it works with 24 because it makes my computer *much* more responsive.. I do not use graphics intensive applications so the difference is hardly discernible.

Although, I’m a bit stumped as to why Windows XP does 32 bit color(on the same card) without any problem and Linux drags at 24bits.. Probably a driver issue?
