Loading common multimedia plugins into firefox

Here’s an easy way to load all commonly used plugins into Firefox (I use 64 bit and it works just fine!)

sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer

Verify your install by restarting firefox and typing in about:plugins… you will now be able to visit most plugin based sites using firefox.

Note: If you dont see video/hear audio, right click on the plugin, select properties, and set video to X11 and audio to ALSA
