Installing flash on 64 bit firefox on kubuntu

Here is the easiest way to getting flash working on your 64 bit firefox:

1. Install nsplugginwrapper
sudo apt-get install nsplugginwrapper
(Make sure you have multiverse selected as your download source)

2. Download the latest version of the 32 bit flash plugin from Adobe (you can get it here)

3. Save the download in a sensible place say /usr/share/firefox/myplugins

4. unzip the contents
/usr/share/firefox/myplugins$ sudo tar -xvf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz

5. Create and install the 32 bit wrapper to the plugin

/usr/lib/firefox/plugins$ sudo nspluginwrapper -i /usr/share/firefox/myplugins/install_flash_player_9_linux/libflashplayer.so

NOTE: You need to specify the full path to the libflashplayer.so file else it will give you a “no such file or directory” error

6. Restart firefox.. and type in about:plugins in the address bar.. you should see the flash player installed.
